Fish Extender
A Fish Extender (FE) is an unofficial, voluntary gift exchange between cruisers on the same sailing. It's run by volunteers in the sailing's Facebook group, not by Disney.
How it works
The name comes from the fish (or other sea creature) decoration outside each stateroom door. Participants hang a pouch or organizer there, and others in their FE group drop small gifts into it any time during the cruise.
Organizers usually post sign-ups a few months before sail day. Groups come in all kinds: general, adults only, kids only, or themed swaps like magnets, ornaments or pins. Each participant brings a small gift for every stateroom in their group. Joining is up to you, and so is how much you spend.

Getting to the Manhattan terminal
Disney Cruise Line sails from the Manhattan Cruise Terminal on the Hudson River, on Manhattan's West Side. Disney gives you a Port Arrival Time at online check-in. Arrive then, not early.
- Flying in
- New York has three airports: JFK, LaGuardia (LGA) and Newark (EWR). From any of them, take a taxi or rideshare to your hotel or straight to the pier.
- Driving in
- Usually simplest within driving range. Budget for terminal parking for every night at sea.
- Taking the train
- Along the Northeast Corridor, take the train into the city and skip parking, then a short ride to the pier.
- Local to the city
- A short rideshare or taxi is usually the cheapest option.
